GIANT Pierogi [February 13th, 2009]

The diameter of this giant pierogi measures about about 10". The dough was made from scratch, then stuffed with delicious mashed potatoes made with fried onion and cheese. I recommend having at least 3 people on hand if attempting this project on your own, as transporting the 4 pound dumpling was no small task. But the end result was well worth it. The larger version was just, if not more, tasty than its traditional-sized relative. After frying each side of the dumpling we then topped with 2 onions and over 1/4 pound melted butter! We had no choice but to give this large and in charge pierogi 2 out of 2 thumbs up!

GIANT Pizza (party) [Today!]

Instead of using any baking sheet, we used an entire oven rack covered in aluminum foil. The pizza was probably 24" (two whole feet) by about 16" (1.25 feet) - 384 square inches of pizza. This isn't the whole story, however... the pizza was two separate whole wheat crusts that we stuffed with a layer of sauce and cheese - quattro fromage (parmesan, asiago, mild provolone, fontina). On top we added more sauce and cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, and marscapone, some more quattro fromage), and then the toppings, which included, mushroom, green pepper, broccoli, vegetarian sausage links, and avocado. In a cross demographic taste test, our pizza was given 4 out of 4 Mama Mia's!!

GIANT Biscuit [November 17th, 2008]

This was a Thanksgiving biscuit measuring about 10 by 12 inches. It was one of many dishes prepared that evening including stuffing, mashed potatoes, Tofurkey, mexican rice, and delicious vegetarian gravy. We presented the singular over-sized biscuit in a dinosaur server a few minutes into the dinner (as it was still baking) and our guests went wild. Fists delved into the warm biscuit and promptly slathered it with butter and gravy. The star of the evening? We're not making any assumptions, but we give this biscuit five out of five stars.

GIANT Thai Peanut Cookie [October 26th, 2008]

This is one of two Giant cookies that we made. The diameter was about 10 inches for each cookie. To "spice" up the average peanut butter cookie recipe, we decided to add lime zest, chili paste, and ginger. The cookies were an excellent blend of sweet and savory, and leaves you asking, "Dinner, or desert?" On a scale of one to ten, we rate this pair as a ten.

GIANT Pot-Pie [October 17th, 2008]

This Giant pot pie measured 18 by 24 inches. We made the crust from scratch and it contains over one pound of butter. For the interior, we combined a variety of seasonal vegetables, including turnips, sweet potatoes, onions, broccoli, green pepper, and corn from the cob! We cooked them all together with stock, as if it were a soup, and then added a little bit of corn starch to thicken. It was able to feed one person - breakfast, lunch, and dinner - for one week. We give this pot pie a 10 out of 10.
